God's Mission
Saturday, June 20, 2009
Finally, the day of our departure. The team is excited, waiting to see what God is going to do in us and through us.
We have been working toward this goal for many months and we cannot believe the moment has arrived. God has provided everything we need. Although there were trials and tribulations, God's direction was clearly evident. Our goal this year is to raise small group leaders and equip them so they can equip others. We cannot wait to get started.
Calvary Outreach in Santa Ana loaned Greg (one of our team members), a fifteen passenger van and a trailer for the luggage. What a blessing! Greg drove us to Tijuana where the first leg of trip begun. We had a lot of luggage and many of us exceeded the airline's weight limitations. I was a bit concerned about having to pay for excess baggage, but God had taken care of that already. Our check-in was totally stress-free and we didn't have to pay a dime. PTL! We had a wonderful flight. We arrived at Jose Marti Airport in Havana before day break. We were bursting at the seams with excitement.
We went through immigration without a hitch. The airport personnel was friendly and helpful. This year we made sure we had transportation to get us to our destination-Sancti Spiritus and we were elated to see the Transtur bus waiting for us at the airport. Thank you Lord!
